What does “smart contract" really mean? In this article, I provide a brief (and very simplified) overview of what a contract is and how it’s formed. I also compare it to “electronic” contracts, discuss the difference between an “electronic” and “smart” contract, and examine how traditional contractual requirements translate – or not – to “smart” contracts.
